VOLUNTEER HELP NEEDED

We are seeking volunteers to help with various aspects of the event, including publicity and outreach, fundraising, and help during the actual event itself. If you are interested in volunteering please call and let us know how you would like to support the event.
Volunteers typically support one of four organizing committees:
- Artistic Planning Team: (call 861-2024 x302)
This team oversees the artistic direction of event and works closely with performers. Tasks related to volunteering with this team include: conducting outreach for submissions; artist recruitment; assisting in the development and writing of correspondence; assisting with rehearsals; helping to create chapbook (editing, writing supplemental text of chapbook such as the introduction, dedication, table of contents, SFWAR information, etc.).
- Publicity and Outreach Team: (call 861-2024 x317)
This team oversees all outreach activities and plans strategy for outreach and advertising. Tasks related to volunteering with this team include: assisting with outreach for submissions; helping to publicize the event by writing and submitting PSA’s (public service announcements), press releases, distributing press information to local media outlets; assisting with the creation of the evening’s program, and conducting grassroots outreach, specifically ensuring that postcards and posters are distributed in the community and email blasts are sent out regularly to announce the event.
- Donations and Fundraising Team: (call 861-2024 x305)
This team is responsible for managing all financial and fundraising aspects of the event. Tasks related to volunteering with this team include: assistance securing in-kind donations, resource-raising (getting food, sound, graphic, silent auction items, etc. donations); soliciting food and flowers or decorations; assisting with food pick up and delivery; helping to field follow-up letters and calls to each funder and for each donation.
- Day-Of Logistics Team: (call 861-2024 x319)
This team recruits and manages all the volunteers for day-of activities. Tasks related to volunteering with tis team include, being present on the actual day of the event to help out in various capacities. Volunteers who work on the day of the event will be assigned to the 1) theater crew or 2) reception crew. This team offers a number of volunteer opportunities within each crew, please contact us to learn more.
